How Far in Advance Should You Book?

One of the most common questions we get is when to actually start booking a pet's travel. The answer depends heavily on where you are going and what time of year it is.

Domestic Travel

For domestic flights within the US, starting the process 4 to 6 weeks in advance is usually sufficient to secure airline space and get a standard health certificate.

“Summer months are peak pet travel season. If you are flying between May and August, book as early as airlines allow.”

International Relocations

For international moves, particularly to strict rabies-free countries like Australia or New Zealand, you should start planning at least 6 to 9 months in advance due to blood titer tests and quarantine reservations.
